Ingredients

  • 1 pound broccoli florets

  • 1 pound mixed seafood (such as shrimp, scallops, and calamari), cleaned and dried

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Vegetable oil, for frying

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • Sea salt, to taste

  • Caper berries, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  2. Dredge the broccoli florets and seafood in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess flour.

  3. In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

  4. Working in batches, fry the broccoli florets and seafood until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried broccoli and seafood to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

  5. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise with a pinch of sea salt.

  6. To serve, arrange the fried broccoli and seafood on a large platter or individual plates. Drizzle the mayonnaise over the top and sprinkle with additional sea salt. Garnish with caper berries.

This dish is best served immediately while still warm and crispy.
